The Bellhop Floor lamp is the newest member of the Bellhop Family, by Barber Osgerby in 2020. Similar in form to the portable table lamp, the shade has instead been upturned and crafted in hand-blown opal glass, sitting upon a slender painted aluminium stem with a contrasting concrete base. The bold colour palette and selected materials visually referencing the Memphis design movement.
With an integrated foot-operated dimmer switch, the illumination can be carefully controlled to suit any atmosphere, while the opal glass softly reflects and diffuses the light.
All colours, apart from white, feature a white opal diffuser. The white stemmed light has a grey opal glass diffuser.
"We suggested to Flos that we should make an uplighter as part of the Bellhop collection. So, we flipped the top upside-down, but we needed a bit more character for such a large scale lamp. We did this by making the top glass, which gives a really lovely glow" - Edward Barber.
